The Passportrait Guide
Everything worth knowing before you take the quiz — what Passportrait is, how the typing works, and how to end up with a portrait you’ll actually want to post.
What Passportrait is
Passportrait is a free, for-fun quiz that reads how you like to move through the world and stamps you as one of 12 original Traveler Archetypes — from The Slow Wanderer to The Neon Nightbird to The Flavor Chaser. Your result isn’t just a label: it’s a collectible, passport-and-boarding-pass–styled Traveler Portrait card, complete with a custom customs stamp, a rarity stat, and a short flattering read on your travel personality. The card is built to be downloaded or shared straight to an Instagram story or a group chat. There’s no account, no email, and no payment — it runs in any phone or desktop browser and it’s ad-supported.
How to play
Tap Find your Traveler Type on the home screen and you’ll move through ten quick questions, styled like stamps in a boarding pass filling up as you go. Each prompt is a small, visual choice about how you travel — where you’d rather wake up, what you pack, how you spend a free afternoon abroad. There are no right or wrong answers and nothing to overthink; the whole run takes under two minutes. When you reach the last question the screen holds its breath, a customs stamp slams down in a short reveal animation, and it settles into your Traveler Portrait. From there you can download the card, share a link to your result, or replay to chase a different type and collect all twelve. Scoring is fully deterministic — the same answers always produce the same archetype — so it’s a real read of your choices, not a random draw.
Tips for a portrait you’ll love
- Answer honestly, not aspirationally. Pick the trip you’d actually enjoy, not the one that sounds impressive. Instinct types you far more truthfully.
- Go with your first pull. The tile you’re drawn to before you reason about it is almost always the most you.
- Do it in one sitting. The quiz reads best when your mood is consistent across all ten questions.
- Chase the full set. There are twelve archetypes and every one is a flex — replay with different answers to collect all 12 stamps.
- Compare with friends. Send the link and see who lands the rarest types.
- Download at full size so the portrait stays crisp for a 9:16 story.
FAQ
Is Passportrait free?
Yes — completely free and ad-supported. No account, login, email, or payment required.
Is it a real personality test?
It’s for fun and self-expression, not a clinical or scientific assessment. Treat your Traveler Archetype as a mirror, not a diagnosis — it’s entertainment, not travel advice.
Does it use real passports, MBTI, or a franchise?
No. All 12 archetypes, their names, blurbs, and artwork are 100% original. There are no real document facsimiles, MRZ codes, MBTI letters, or brands and characters anywhere in the app.
Do you store my answers?
Your answers are processed in your browser to build your portrait — we don’t require an account or keep your individual responses. We record only anonymous, aggregate counts so we can show each type’s rarity. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.
Can I share my result?
Yes — that’s the whole point. Every archetype has its own link (like /r/slow-wanderer) and a downloadable portrait card image made to look great even at story or thumbnail size.
